TORONTO —With the Boston Red Sox a game away from the postseason in the standings, their go-to guys and others will be ready to go for tonight. If this game is closer than the others, expect Justin Slaten, Garrett Whitlock, and Aroldis Chapman at the forefront of the later innings.

After pitching yesterday and potentially in line to start in the latter half of the Detroit Tigers series, Payton Tolle is most likely unavailable tonight. You have to wonder if he will be trusted in a playoff scenario, but regardless, he will continue to try and complement his above average four seam fastball with something else.

RED SOX BULLPEN:

LHP: Payton Tolle, 6.46 ERA (26 pitches thrown yesterday)

LHP: Chris Murphy, 3.64 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

LHP: Steven Matz, 3.11 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

LHP: Justin Wilson, 3.00 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

LHP: Aroldis Chapman, 1.19 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

RHP: Justin Slaten, 4.32 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

RHP: Garrett Whitlock, 2.28 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

RHP: Greg Weissert, 2.92 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

RHP: Zack Kelly, 4.68 ERA (0 pitches thrown yesterday)

Response

  1. Heck yeah, the bullpen usage thing should be stressed way more in broadcasts for how important it is. The fact every team doesn’t have a neat graphic showing how their pen is doing is insane.
