During the close watch of prospects Roman Anthony, Kristian Campbell, and Marcelo Mayer, there’s been a prospect on the rise who’s sneaking under the radar. IF Mikey Romero has done nothing but hit in this season’s spring training, and the tools are there at the plate.
Similar to the pressure alleviated for Marcelo Mayer due to the close attention on Anthony and Campbell, you have to wonder if Mikey Romero is getting the same benefit, as he’s a 2022 first-round pick who’s fallen out of the fanbase’s memory. His value is going to come mostly in the box, utilizing a typical smooth lefty swing paired with above-average hitting discipline.
It continues to be quite humorous that the Red Sox organization will be living off the fruits of former GM Chaim Bloom, yet it obviously doesn’t excuse the losing that has transpired over the years. Regardless, the fanbase will be receiving much fruit for the labor of recently watching losing baseball year in and year out.
