With the minor league emergence of OF Roman Anthony and IFs Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer, there has been a lot of excitement for these players to show what they have come 2025 in the MLB. However, it seems as though a few recent dynamics have changed that.

With Cora’s comments above and his indecision to the media about where Devers will start in the field, the anticipation of the core prospects starting right away takes a little bit of a hit. Cora seems to be heading down the road of letting experience prevail and having the young guys potentially prove it a little more in Worcester.

As Cora touched on above, this isn’t a bad problem to have by any means. However, if slotting a young infielder like Kristian Campbell adjusts the infield to a better defensive fit, it’s tough to pass the youth up—especially considering how many errors this team made last year.
