Ceddanne Rafaela Entering 2025 with Key Adjustments

via @redsoxstats on X

Ceddanne Rafaela had a promising 15 HR, 75 RBI campaign with the Red Sox in 2024, and he’s on track for another step forward. There are a few adjustments he has been making to contribute more to the offense…

Improved physique: The difference physically in the picture above between 2024 (left) and 2025 (right) is stark. This will allow him to provide more pop and mentally be under less stress at the plate knowing he has the strength to supply power without too much exertion.

Leg kick: The follow-through to his current swing on the right has a bigger leg kick, potentially allowing him to time pitches more effectively. This also obviously adds more force behind the swing, but a key battle with himself will be to believe in his strength and refrain from reckless swings.

Eye discipline: Rafaela has talked this spring about prioritizing pitches within the zone, as that was the glaring issue last year. If he can be more restrained at the plate, the numbers are bound to look promising.

Considering the season he had last year, it’s not crazy to bank on him hitting around 20 HR and hitting for around 85 RBI. Playing a utility role if the looming prospects break out will obviously impact those projections, but that only means he will deliver timely offense off the bench.

  1. Yeah I feel like Rafaela’s offense is being slept on, he not gonna be a Devers but he might wield a threatening BAT pretty soon
