Whether just before Four Nations or shortly after the break, Hampus Lindholm and Mark Kastelic will return, shifting every defenseman and forward back into their proper lineup spots. If this team can get two out of three wins before the break, management will likely lean away from selling.

You can get big returns for your depth pieces:
Whether it’s Geekie or Frederic alone, contenders will pay a hefty price for grinding middle-six depth. Geekie’s ability to play with top-line players will fetch an even higher price—but selling him instead of Frederic would be waving the white flag on the season.

Poitras gives you a chance to roll out more depth than you think:
Matt Poitras has developed through Providence and, since his call-up, has brought offensive creativity and fresher legs to the third line. This is exciting groundwork for a third line that’s arguably the problem. The challenge is to swap Frederic and/or Brazeau for more agile depth pieces.
