It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the correlation between many of the goals Elias Lindholm scored for the Canucks. This pattern has to be considered by Sacco—especially with the struggling power play.
Part of the problem with the Bruins’ first power-play unit is that they’re not allowing enough Lindholm tips on the point shot. This ties in with McAvoy’s struggles as the point man on the man advantage. Whoever the point man is, they need to consider Lindholm’s sweet spot in addition to the default Pastrnak spot.
Doing this will get Lindholm and the power play into a much better rhythm: enter with faster pace, get shots through from the point, and work through the option of either Pastrnak’s circle or the seam that opens up for Lindholm’s tips.
