Kastelic Provides a Missing Piece

The Bruins have rotated through different scrum-type players to provide a necessary element to the team, but Kastelic is standing out so far. Hathaway and Maroon have been the players to add this element previously, along with Frederic, but they weren’t consistently quick to answer the bell as part of their regular game.

So far this season, Mark Kastelic—who’s been part of a great line pairing beside Koepke and Beecher—has been especially quick to respond to any disrespect toward his team. There have been plenty of moments like the one above this season where Kastelic felt it necessary to react to even the slightest physical attacks on his teammates.

Previous teams haven’t had this type of urgency to protect the player beside them, despite this being a tight-knit locker room. If Kastelic can keep this up, it will only intensify the team’s identity as a physical, straightforward, forechecking squad.

Response

  1. He’s the type of guy I would want fighting a bear , and he has that niche trait where he’s both tough and not a total jackwagon like Hathway. Like even Marroon was kind of tooly but I still liked him as a bruin but still Kastelic clears
