Under Joe Sacco, the Bruins are rediscovering their identity and getting back to the essentials of their game. It seems like both the fans and the players needed to come to terms with what this team truly is.
The 2024–2025 Bruins are built on defense and goaltending, and Sacco came in recognizing that players were pushing too hard for offense alone. Now, we’re seeing a noticeable increase in effort in the defensive zone—exactly what should have been the standard from the start of the season.
The offense will come. It did against the Islanders last game, and we’ll look to keep that momentum going tonight against the Penguins. Keep appreciating the low opponent goal totals, and trust that this roster can—and will—start scoring more consistently.
For this team, keeping the puck out of the net is the flashy play. And you should love it.
