Montgomery Leaves in Disappointing Fashion

I would say pump the brakes to all the Bruins fans rushing to defend Jim Montgomery with a bulletproof vest. It’s clear Montgomery’s mind was being occupied by things outside the organization.

In addition to mismanaging the roster and the usual coaching critiques, Montgomery was clearly asking for more than his value—especially given his prior history as a coach. On top of that, the tweet above shows his mind had to be pondering this in his final weeks with the Bruins, and that shouldn’t sit right with any of you.

The players can text him and appreciate his work, but business is business. Montgomery’s handling of this wasn’t fair to management—and arguably not to the players either. Have those Blues matchups circled on your calendar, folks.

Glad to now have a coach who’s focused on the here and now.
