With consecutive games against the Hornets, the Celtics showed a different type of competitive fire on the court. The players were much more mindful of prior incidents and used that as fuel.
As seen above, players like Derrick White did not tolerate any of Grant Williams’ shenanigans. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have also been very expressive in their own ways about how frustrated they were with their former teammate’s actions.
This level of competitive fire isn’t something you’ve always seen from this team, and I honestly find it refreshing. However, maybe to their credit, do they actually play better when they forget about the on-court chaos?
We’ll see if this potentially new mentality serves a good purpose…
