As with any team trying to repeat, the league gets much tougher in terms of intensity and game planning. When the playoff field faces the Celtics, it’s hard not to think they will try to expose one position and area in particular.
Although C Kristaps Porzingis wasn’t around much for the Celtics’ first title victory, teams are going to force his defensive presence during this second title run. Defensively, this team has some holes to attack, but if Porzingis misses any time, attacking an older and older Horford and a backup Kornet seems like a plan to start with.
It’s hard not to think the paint area will be something to address in the offseason by recently recommitted GM Brad Stevens. The hopes for more team success would be greatly benefited by a consistently healthy paint player.
