If they want to argue that the big money they left us with justifies everything, it’s awfully ironic. Belichick didn’t exactly maximize his own big spending potential when he signed players like Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, etc.
It’s also not forgotten by this former Belichick-or-die writer that after he let go of Brady, Brady went on to win another Super Bowl and set up Baker Mayfield for success as well. Yet, Belichick himself still stays chattering about concepts like how the “QB can’t play defense.”
