To say that Neely is dealing with the noise of these negotiations differently than GM Don Sweeney would be quite accurate. It looks like Neely has had just enough of this hold-off.
The Bruins offering Swayman presumably $8 million AAV over the next 8 years is exactly the move to make, but Swayman is holding firm on his supposed value. Korpisalo is now in line to start on opening day in Florida.
Now that the whispers of the number being offered to Swayman have some sort of validity, this makes things interesting moving forward. Is Swayman going to rethink things and prove he wants to be in Boston? Is he going to another team for a whopping $9–10 million AAV, even despite not playing a full season?
The standoff continues… hold the line!
