The idea from the team to have a foundation for the season’s first half, and then improve with an added top-six forward from there, is not a bad move by any means. I just wonder whether Swayman’s contract was weighed at all during this conversation…
Regardless, the team’s prospect system—and specifically the bottom-end lines—usually contributes more than expected, and the goalie development in this organization has always been top tier. Why not use that to your advantage this year and play it cautious with Swayman and other things?
