Did we come into this season absolutely expecting the worst? Yes. Has most of the buildup to the season—and the season so far—looked much different than our assumptions? Also yes. We now sit here at 1-0 with a handful of quite favorable scenarios forming.
The Seahawks are coming to town with an offense missing Kenneth Walker. The 49ers, a looming opponent, just lost Christian McCaffrey to the IR. And to be quite frank, the NFL as a whole looks much more vulnerable than we may have assumed.
Something has to be said for the Seahawks’ depth at certain positions and the talent they have on offense, but there should also be an awareness of the early signs of a new era in Patriots football. With a consistent, nagging feeling of potential victory, the reality is that we will see a New England win on Sunday.
