Although the scoring indicates that this was a well-fought, balanced game, the Red Sox ultimately do not have time for just effort. This team sits 4.0 games back of the Minnesota Twins for the third Wild Card spot.
Starting with the final game of this series, the Red Sox need to imagine nothing else but a closing win—and carry that energy into an infinitely big series against New York.
